Friday 11th May 2007 : on the framework of the fortnight of fair trade, the Foundation Sophia Antipolis is going to welcome at 9h30 Peirre Salcio, director of external relation of MAX HAVELAAR, international solidarity association with a non lucrative goal, recognised as general interest in 2003.
Max Havelaar has an objective of allowing marginalised producers to live with dignity of their work and that the consumers react for a sustainable development. Created in France in 1992, Max Havelaar France provides a better access to international markets for the organisations and producers and provides an international guaranty to the consumer. On the occasion of this breakfast conference, a number of short films will be projected of which, “encounters about fair trade” with the filmed testimonials of rice and coffee producers in Africa, Laos and Thailand. Following the conference there will be a debate with the public that will end this manifestation.
