21st
of September 2007: Day of
study “Prevention and Management
of Natural Risks in the Alpes-Maritimes”
at Valrose –Nice. Day organised
by the Mediterranean Interdisciplinary
College for the Environment and
Sustainable Development and the
Master “landscaping and geo-engineering
of the Earth-Environment Department
– Free Entry.
The geography and the geology of
the Alpes-Maritimes make this region
sensitive to important natural risks
such as the risk of floods and seismic
risk. The definition and the evaluation
of one or several natural risks
has become a necessity for local
communities. Each one of these communities
must define a Local Urbanism Plan
(PLU) in order to make its development
durable and ensure the security
of its population.
This day has an objective of promoting
exchanges between professionals
from the social-economic world,
communities and students. These
will allow the students of the Master
AGI and other trainings of the Earth
Sciences Department to evaluate
the relevance of their professional
project, to build their network
and to prepare their professional
integration by researching companies
that are offering internships or
eventual job opportunities. Inversely,
this day allows communities and
companies to be directly in contact
with of future interns and employees.

region. Gérard Giraudon,
Director of INRIA Sophia Antipolis
