Among
its diverse activities, the department
of organisation and management of
scientific and entrepreneurial events
pursues a continuous action of supporting
the businesses of the park, notably
by putting in place partnerships.
Following its objective of supporting
the creation and the development
of innovative businesses, the Foundation
Sophia Antipolis plays an informative,
an intermediation and a communicative
role.

SME PACT
The
Foundation Sophia Antipolis signed
a SME Pact on the 11th of September
2005 with the “Comité
Richelieu” and “Oséo
Anvar”, in the presence of
Mr François Loos, French
Minister for the Economy,
Finances and Industry. The pact
is a plan launched in September
2005 under the patronage of Mr Thierry
Breton with the aim to facilitate
relations between SMEs and large
companies. Aided by "Sophia
Croissance", the Foundation
Sophia Antipolis has decided to
focus its efforts towards SMEs.

CAPINTECH
In
Autumn 2006, the Foundation joined
CAPINTECH, a national organisation
which gather around Mr Laurent Kott,
President of INRIA Transfers Technologies
unit, and almost all French innovation,
and capital risk experts.
Aim : To develop initiatives concerning
the integration of SMEs in competitiveness
clusters' projects.

SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL OF SAMSM
The
syndicate aims to encourage economic
territorial development. The syndicate
has a scientific council composed
of experts whose aim is to aid prospective
reflection. The scientific council
was created under the initiative
of Mr Christian Estrosi, President
of the “Conseil Général
des Alpes-Maritimes”. The
Senator Pierre Laffitte, President
of the Foundation Sophia Antipolis
and Mr Albert Marouani, President
of the University of Nice-Sophia
Antipolis are co-presidents.
The first meeting of the council
took place at the Foundation Sophia
Antipolis on Friday the 22nd Of
September 2006.

PRIMING FUNDS SOPHIA EURO LAB
Created
on the Foundation Sophia Antipolis’s
initiative, the Sophia Euro Lab
fund brings together, in way of
share holders, the Bayerische Landesbank,
the deposit and consignment office,
the AXA group, the SPEF and other
prestigious share holders.

TREMPLIN ENTERPRISES 2006
A
contest that rewards the best company
projects, Tremplin Entreprises takes
place at the Senat. 2006 was the
8th edition of the contest. The
contest attracts investors from
the whole of Europe, to whom the
projects for the creation or development
of companies are presented. From
the very beginning, the Foundation
Sophia Antipolis has supported this
event through the presentation of
"Sophipolitan entrepreneurs"
project files, s. and through written
and electronic communication media,
and announcements made at conferences
and club meetings.
The 5th and 6th of July 2006 at
the Senate.

15TH EDITION OF THE GLOBAL FORUM
The
9th and 10th November at the “Hôtel
de Ville” of Paris.
An annual international event dedicated
to futurology, technological innovation,
and the ongoing changes, and international
policies leading the way for major
development within the information
society. The event brings together
in the region of 300 people of more
than 30 nationalities, policy experts,
financiers and legal practitioners,
academics, industrialists of the
information, telecommunication and
multimedia society, network and
satellite coordinators, contents
manufacturers, e-commerce societies,
as well as consumer, town, regions
representatives.
Today, the Global Forum facilitates
the creation of synergy between
practical applications and innovative
ideas and above all people. The
forum bring together the most powerful
regulative authorities, and large
American, European, and Asian companies.
The Foundation Sophia Antipolis
organises this conference, taking
place alternately in Sophia Antipolis
and other European capital. The
16th edition should take place in
Sophia Antipolis.

SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS
The
Foundation Sophia Antipolis pursues
the putting in place of a data base
of innovative companies, a database
intended for the large French and
foreign investors. This platform
could be put at the disposal of
the competitiveness clusters in
order to facilitate the access of
small companies into the cluster
projects.
