SMEs are very present in the dynamic clusters. Nearly 4000
SMEs, of which 80% of businesses are listed in the clusters.
Ground
transport conference in January in Strasbourg
PREDIT (National Transportation Innovation & Research)
programme organises its next conference the 24th January in
Strasbourg, in collaboration with the Future Vehicle cluster.
Satellite
navigation: first inter-cluster meeting
The DGE organised the 13th December 2007 at Paris, the first
inter-cluster meeting about Global Navigation Satellite Systems
(GNSS) and satellite geo-localisation applications.
Exceptional
contributions supporting the textile industry
To support the French textile industry, two state contributions
in favour of the European Centre of Innovating Textiles (CETI)
have been announced by Hervé Novelli in November 2007:
exceptional immediate support of €2Mn to finance the
first physical investments as supplementary support.
Bourgogne
Nuclear Cluster: two operational collaborative platforms in
2008
The Bourgogne Nuclear Cluster is pursuing the consolidation
and structuration of its technical projects by putting in
place two platforms of collaboration. The first is a collaborative
digital platform (Pinc).
“Mobile
payment” test
Six big banks and four mobile phone operators launched, last
November, under the name “Pay Mobile”, an experiment
of wireless payment, almost 500 consumers and 100 shopkeepers
took part.
International
development: a strategic axe
Public entities want to pursue the establishment of an international
strategy by the clusters. In 2007, three axes have been privileged.
The first of which concerned accompanying the international
action of fifteen clusters.
Cluster
establishments represent 11% of industrial employment
A four page SESSI summary, from last December, discussed industrial
employment in clusters. Nearly 5000 businesses, employing
640 000 personnel, were members of at least one cluster in
2006.
Cluster
chart
SESSI recently published their cluster chart which proposes
statistical information such as charts for the 66 clusters
labelled before the 5th July 2007.

Day of Clusters
The documents and meetings conducted during the 3rd clusters
day organised by the DGE, 12th December, are online.
The “Cluster
supplement” of the DGE letter provides more precise
