IMPROVISATION WORKSHOPS

The Foundation welcomes into its buildings “l’Association d’Improvisation Antiboise” (the improvisation
association of Antibes) l’AIA, who aims to promote theatrical improvisation matches. Created by
around 15 amateur comedians, the association organises weekly training and also organises theatrical
improvisation matches. The theatrical improvisation match is the principle of the collective sportive
meetings given to the theatrical world to offer a show born in the instant of a theatrical joust.
As with all collective sporting matches, the theatrical match follows rules and a precise series of
Events : two teams of six improvisers (three women and three men) with their respective trainers face
each other under the watch of the judge, of his two assistants and of the public, and to the rhythm of
the musicians that accompany the match, and all of it lead by a ceremony master. During each period the judge will propose a few themes of improvisation and their constraints of the game, of which timing is one. For each theme, each team has 20 seconds of preparation which is lead by the trainer.
