Created
in 1984 and declared as a public
utility, the Foundation Sophia-Antipolis
fulfils a fundamental task on
the Sophia-Antipolis site: the
scientific and cultural organisation
of the park.
Its objective is to facilitate
exchange and long-term reflections
in the areas of science, industry
and culture at a French, European
and international level.
In
2004 the Foundation Sophia-Antipolis
modified its status to become
“ Foundation of sheltering
research”, which enables
it to create research foundations
around research projects. These
sheltered foundations encourage
public/private partnership for
the funding of research.
The
Foundation Sophia-Antipolis
bases itself in launching and
confronting ideas by opening
different fields of reflection.
This is achieved by organising
symposiums, seminars, and themed
breakfast mornings.
The
Foundation Sophia-Antipolis
