For more than 30 years scientific cultural exhibitions have been organised to connect the cultural challenges to the development of our societies and to allow the Sophipolitains to understand and to master the current developments.
Outside the ‘professional circle’, it is through activities like salsa lessons, Philo Sophia circle, concerts where a lot of contacts get to know each other, allowing therefore exchanges between students, industrialists and scientists. Since September the Fondation has been hosting a theatrical improvisation workshop that organizes weekly trainings and improvisation matches. Moreover, the Fondation launched a series of conferences based on the theme of sustainable development with key note speakers.
“Les Nouvelles de Sophia” (NSA) which publishes 4000 newsletters every month, presents a monthly editorial, various internships, seminars and themed meetings, updates of the businesses on the site, concerts and exhibitions, etc.
Geographically situated at the crossroads of Europe and the Mediterranean, the Sophia Antipolis technological park wanted, from the beginning, to situate itself at the intersection of technology, art, philosophy and ethics. The cultural policy of the Fondation is shown in the determination of making Sophia Antipolis an area of encounters and comparisons between the sciences, techniques and arts. For this reason it organises numerous encounters in the way of conferences around various themes and current happenings.
• Scientific Conferences of the Fondation Sophia Antipolis
The Fondation Sophia Antipolis organises and supports numerous exhibitions set up in collaboration with the companies or institutions of the site (General Council, Regional Council, Local Communities). It drives reflexions on general artistic, scientific and technical exhibitions reflexions themes (innovative architecture, design…).
