The European Cluster Oservatory project
The second phase of the European Cluster Observatory began in September 2009 for a period of 3 years. This concerns a program based on a Framework for Innovation and Competitiveness, launched by the European Commission as part of its innovation policy. It follows the project "Cluster Mapping “ launched in 2006.
The European Cluster Observatory aims to become a hub for the clusters by providing analysis and facilitating collaboration. This is an innovative and interactive platform that will offer unique access to information, analysis of clusters and cluster policies conducted in Europe and the Mediterranean.
The Observatory will also provide analysis and reports on regional competitive environments, the transnational networks of clusters, the clusters in emerging sectors and on good governance practices.
The consortium is composed of 6 partners: CSC "The Centre for Strategy and Competitiveness” (project coordinator) - Sweden; Ivory Tower - Sweden Orkestra - Spain; Clusterland - Austria, Germany and the Zenit-Fondation Sophia Antipolis - France . The FSA is responsible for activities related to Mediterranean countries.
