La commission européenne, via la Direction générale Entreprise et Industrie, a lancé une initiative pour aider les clusters et leurs membres (PME) dans leur effort pour développer des partenariats et des coopérations d’affaires sur des marchés internationaux. Le premier événement dont la coordination est assurée par la Fondation Sophia Antipolis se tiendra à Tokyo du 12 au 16 novembre 2012.

EU-Japan Cluster Match-making Event on Green Materials and Clean Technology

November 12th-15th, 2012 - Tokyo, JAPAN

As part of a new policy aimed at promoting international cluster cooperation for SMEs, DG Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission has launched in 2012 an initiative that contributes to organise specific international cluster match-making events to support cluster organisations and their SME members in their efforts to develop partnerships and business cooperation on global markets.

The first event of this initiative will focus on Green Materials and will be held in Tokyo, Japan from November 12^th to 16^th at the occasion of the Green Innovation Expo 2012. This mission is co-organsied by the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation and a consortium lead by the Fondation Sophia Antipolis. it will allow a delegation composed of 18 representatives (see below for their detailed profiles) from clusters & SME members from Europe (incl. Germany, France, Sweden, Poland, Denmark, Spain, and Italy) to initiate cooperation agreements and concretise partnerships in the field of green materials, covering in particular the following segments:

Materials & components promoting energy saving;
Materials & components promoting reduction of environmental burdens;
Materials & components promoting weight reduction;
Materials & components for energy generation & storage;
Materials & components promoting longer life;
Technologies supporting the development of new applications for materials and components.

The mission will be structured in 2 parts including:

OVERVIEW:

9 clusters representing the most innovative European regions in the clean technologies sector;
And 9 SME members from these clusters.

CLUSTER	SME
CD2e (France) CD2e operates in the sector of new environmental technologies (waste management, recycling, eco-materials & buildings, etc…) It manages various international projects not only in the EU but also in Brazil and Canada. Located in Loos-en-Gohelle, France, CD2e represents 600 companies and 60 research laboratories. www.cd2e.com	Terra Nova French SME Specialized in research, design and implementation of metals recovering processes and recycling of printed circuit boards. www.terranovametal.fr
CleanTechNRW (Germany) CleanTechNRW develops, promote and implement innovation potentials along the interfaces between the energy, chemical, steel and biotechnology sectors. The goal of CleanTechNRW is to unlock the potential of reducing CO2-emissions as well as energy exertion at the cutting point of these four sectors. Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster (Denmark) Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster supports research and innovation partnerships between companies and research institutions within the cleantech sector. It is member of the Global Cleantech Cluster Association. Innovation Network for Biomass – INBIOM (Denmark) INBIOM develops new technologies, products and companies by bridging the gap between knowledge and commercial interest within the biomass energy sector. Paper Province (Sweden) Paper Province supports companies and innovators in their development of new technology and aid them in their troubleshooting within the pulp and paper technology sector.
